Who we are:  PRIZM Inc is an award winning small business based in Gaithersburg, MD that provides environmental, management, and energy consulting to public and private sector clients.  Since 1996, PRIZIM has provided a range of services to help improve the performance of client organizations and support client missions. These services include Audits, Environmental Consulting, Capacity Building and On-site Support.  As a mission support contractor to the federal government, PRIZIM specializes in environmental matters and management consulting services. PRIZIM seeks to embody sustainable environmental principles in its business practices and to serve as a model for other small businesses in environmental performance. To achieve this, PRIZIM maintains an internal Environmental Management System (EMS) with the goal of reducing the company’s environmental footprint in areas such as waste, energy, meetings, and purchasing.

This position:  This position is based out of our headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland and will focus on providing support to federal clients, primarily the EPA, in a variety of tasks that include conference planning, development of promotional material, support for volunteer committees, the development of technical material (research, writing, editing), and training.  The position requires experience on a range of environmental issues, including air but other media as well.  In this position, you will manage and conduct tasks with a focus on small business and environmental compliance.  A key element of the position is to develop strong relationships with the client and other stakeholders. 

PRIZIM consultants tend to work on a variety of tasks for a range of clients so this position will include work on other environmental consulting projects such as EMS development, sustainability consulting, and regulatory auditing.   

What you need:

• Environmental background and undergraduate degree in an environmental discipline required; special interest in small business and / or compliance/enforcement, especially at the state level.
• Consulting experience or prior work with EPA, federal or state government, and an understanding of a range of environmental topics.
• Must thrive in a flexible work environment, and like the challenge of working on multiple assignments in multiple areas.
• Strong writing ability is an absolute must.
• Two to four years of related work experience.
